Susan Ann McNickle

May 15, 1949 - Dec. 19, 2024

Our dear mother, Susan Ann McNickle, passed away on Dec. 19, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, friend, neighbor; and selflessly shared her warmth and spirit with so many.

Susan was born on May 15, 1949, to Richard and Bonnie Herminghaus in Billings Montana. Susan was married to Stanley McNickle for 56 years. They have four children: Candace, William, Daniel and Kenneth. They have six grandchildren: Garrison, Cole, Bennett, Jackson, Foster and Sadie.

Susan was known by many as "Sassy", "Manga", "Mrs. Sue", "Teacher Sue", "Suzy Q", and "Mrs. McNickle". She showed her selflessness as she operated a home daycare for over 30 years and helped raise dozens of children. She left a legacy of kindness to the community in her support for the schools, athletic programs, our church and anyone or any organization that needed a hand. She was the definition of a mother and caregiver to all.

A funeral service was held on Fri Dec. 27, 2024, at Porter Funeral Home, Kansas City, KS.  Susan's ashes will be interred at the Leavenworth National Cemetery on July 25, 2025.  

In her memory, Susan would ask that you donate your time at a local elementary school, spend time with a favorite neighbor, or send a hand-written note to a favorite family member or friend.
