Carl was born on January 19, 1952, in Lawrence, Kansas, to parents Charles and Marylin (Barr) Miller. Carl earned his Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, from Kansas State University, where he met his wife of 49 years, Constance (Connie) Lee Story Miller. On May 22, 1977 they were united in marriage in Winfield, Kansas.
He was active in 4-H and FFA and long time supporter of both. Later, Carl and his brother Jim traveled around the country showing cattle. Carl and Connie enjoyed dancing in their younger years. Their greatest joy was raising two boys. And in his spare time, Carl enjoyed genealogy. Carl was a giver and served his community by delivering Meals on Wheels and was affiliated with Tallgrass Legacy Alliance, (support to young ranchers).
For 32 years Carl and Connie, hand in hand built "Miller Ranch Equipment", a successful business selling Vermeer, Hydra Beds, and other cattle equipment. Of the 32 years, several were spent building fence for local farmers. They were one of the first ever Hydra Bed dealers. They have a great appreciation for their customers and vendors.
Carl is survived by his wife Connie Miller of Alma, their two sons, Alex (Leah) Miller of Reading, Steven (Lindsey) Miller of Wamego; brother, Jim Miller of Alma; grandchildren, Owen, Joanna, Cade, Nathan, and Luke; nieces and nephews; and many friends he met along this journey.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marylin, sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Darold Brunkow.
